Useful Japanese for everyone:

LESSON 4- Introductions (Shoukai)

Typical Japanese self-introduction conversation between Tanaka-san and Nishida-san.

(Note: the suffix "-san" can mean Mr., Mrs., Ms. or nearly any title.)

Tanaka: Ohayoo gozaimasu. Watashi wa Tanaka desu. Douzo yoroshiku.

Nishida: Ohayoo gozaimasu. Watashi wa Nishida desu. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

Tanaka: Nishida san wa gakusei desu ka?

Nishida: Hai, gakusei desu.

Tanaka: Soo desu ka.

Tanaka: Good morning. I am Tanaka. Nice to meet you.

Nishida: Good morning. I am Nishida. Pleased to meet you.

Tanaka: Are you a student?

Nishida: Yes, I am.

Tanaka: Oh, I see.

Don't forget to check the Lesson 4 vocabulary page, then move on to Lesson 5.
